Financial Assistant

Alpine F1 Team is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant. The primary function of this role is to provide support to ensure key financial closing and day to day activities are completed in a robust and timely manner.

The Role - Your key duties are varied and will develop as you grow in the team. You will support preparation of management accounts, group reporting, and rolling forecast with particular focus on the following:

Inventories

  • Own the end to end inventory accounting process. Determine the approach to inventory recognition and expensing for all areas: car parts, merchandise, raw materials, consumables and tooling
  • Take responsibility for booking of journal entries, including expensing and balance sheet accruals where applicable
  • Determining usage of parts for our stock declaration and building a strong audit trail for all parts. • Work with business partners to understand variances between actuals and budget/forecast (P&L and Balance Sheet) and provide insightful commentaries
  • Monitor and test stock count controls, including investigation of, and accounting for, adjustments and write offs

IT Costs

  • Work with business partners and IT department to understand and accurately account for IT costs: journal entries, variance analysis and insightful commentaries
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed to agreed deadlines with all reconciling items investigated and resolved

Fixed Assets

  • Key player in the continuing fixed asset inventory count, including inspection of assets and liaison with department heads to reconcile differences and make adjustments to accounting records

Other

  • Liaise with the business to confirm completeness and reasonableness of timesheet data to ensure accurate reporting of activity-based analysis
  • A significant portion of your work must be undertaken in a manner which not only complies with financial reporting standards, but also allows for accurate declarations to be made under the FIA Cost Cap reporting requirements Therefore, the role will require you to gain an understanding of the Financial Regulations
  • In due time, particularly regarding inventory reporting, you will be expected to identify areas of risk with the reporting process and help to design and implement improvements

The Person - Ideally you will have practical accounting experience and an accounting based qualification (degree, AAT, part ACA/ACCA, or similar) with strong MS excel skills and an ability to communicate at all levels

You will be pro-active and a quick learner and used to managing workloads to meet deadlines.  You will be hungry to develop within your accounting career and be comfortable working within a team but also on your own initiative

You will be enthusiastic, organised, diligent, proactive and hardworking with excellent attention to detail
