We have opportunities to be part of the Mechanical Design team in the role of Mechanical Design Engineer.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Formula 1 cars. Your focus will be on suspension design, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. You’ll collaborate closely with aerodynamicists, structural analysts, vehicle performance experts, and production engineers to create cutting-edge solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Suspension System Design: Design and development of suspension components, including wishbone members, internal springs and dampers.
- Innovation: Explore new geometries, materials and manufacturing techniques.
- Simulation and Analysis: Utilise advanced simulation tools to evaluate suspension performance under various load conditions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate suspension systems seamlessly into the overall vehicle design.
- Testing and Validation: Participate in testing programs in the lab, to validate designs.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Reasonable experience in mechanical design, with a focus on Formula 1 mechanical design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Attention to Detail: Critical for reliable assemblies.
- Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in a relevant role either in motorsport or another high performance industry. However, applications for a junior position will be considered for graduates who can demonstrate academic excellence and a high level of extra-curricular commitment.
