Mechanical Design Engineer – The Role
Reporting to the Lead Technology Development Engineer requires the design of various rigs, jigs and pit equipment, supervising the parts throughout production, quality, installation and testing. This role also involves contribution to the development of advanced design methodologies such as but not limited to macros, parametric optimisation tools and interfacing CAD with simulation tools.
You will contribute to the development of fault free and cost-effective parts and rigs plus the development advanced design methodologies whilst providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
This is a unique and exciting role which provides an opportunity to directly impact race performance.
Mechanical Design Engineer – The Person
We are looking for an experienced mechanical designer with strong experience in CAD (ideally 3DX, Catia)
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Mechanical Engineering Degree or similar
- Experience in fast-paced engineering industries such as Formula 1 and/or Aerospace
- Strong CAD and FEA skills, ideally with experience of CATIA V5/3DX
- Understanding of hand calculations for stress
- Basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical components would be advantageous
The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and an analytical approach, strong ability to lead projects and good problem-solving ability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential along with enjoyment of collaborative working.
