F1 DRIVE Lead Marshall

Founded in 1882, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club is an English Premier League Club, based in North London.

 

Led by the late great Bill Nicholson, the Club became the first in England to win the League and FA Cup Double in 1961, and the first in the UK to win a European Trophy two years later. Spurs has since been home to some of the game’s great entertainers, including Jimmy Greaves, Glenn Hoddle, Paul Gascoigne, David Ginola, Gareth Bale, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.

 

In April 2019, the Club opened an iconic new stadium that sits at the heart of a £1billion sport-led regeneration of North Tottenham. The stadium is the largest football club stadium in London and is a multi-use venue with the ability to host a variety of events 365 days a year, including NFL, boxing, rugby, concerts, and other major events, plus visitor attractions including Stadium Tours and the Dare Skywalk.

 

The stadium development scheme has to date created more than 4,000 new jobs for local people, with circa £300m pumped into the local economy each year.

As part of Stadium’s multipurpose use, the Club runs several successful visitor attractions, Stadium Tours and The Dare Skywalk, these welcome circa. 200,000 guests a year. The Club recently announced a 15-year partnership with Formular 1 that will bring a brand-new motorsport experience to London. The partnership will see the exclusive delivery of the world’s first in-stadium electric karting facility F1 DRIVE London, based at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

 

Job Purpose:

Hours/Work Pattern: This role is a seasonal role, with F1 DRIVE being closed during the concert and NFL periods of the stadium. Working schedule will be August to June, with a two-month break. You will be paid across 12 months on a pro-rata basis, with holiday accrued being taken during the closure period.

 

You will be required to work on a shift basis of 5 days out of a 7-day week. Shifts will be allocated at least a month in advance, across a rolling rota pattern. Shifts include working regular weekends, evenings, bank holidays and match days.

 

As a F1 DRIVE Race Marshal, you will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of racing and guest experience within our karting facility. Your responsibilities will include overseeing various race types on multiple tracks, the management of fan zone experiences, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring the experience runs smoothly and meets high standards. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all visitors. You will be required to host groups of 15+ for track events. Providing expert knowledge, guidance and safety information.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Operations:

  • Assist in the overall operation of the karting facility, ensuring that equipment and areas are safe and in good working condition.
  • Undertake basic mechanical duties under the guidance of the mechanic when needed.
  • Conduct daily inspection checks, reporting any defects to the management team and taking appropriate remedial action.
  • Ensure customers use the facilities in accordance with company policies and National Karting Association guidelines.
  • Ensure fan zone activations are in excellent working order and experiences are delivered as per training and service standards.
  • Use technical systems for race timings and booking information, in line with training and service standards.
  • Supervise track marshals where required, in accordance with training and service standards.

 
Customer Service:

  • Provide an outstanding level of service and customer experience to all visitors.
  • Deliver clear and effective safety briefings to customers before their racing events.
  • Conduct engaging and interactive fan experience activations and results/trophy presentations post-race.

 

Safety and Compliance:

  • Maintain a safe environment for all individuals using the karting track and fan zone.
  • Ensure all events and bookings are delivered to a consistently high and safe standard.
  • Deliver all experiences in line with standard operating procedures and service standards.
  • Work in line with all SOP’s and risk assessments.

Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience within a fast-paced Visitor Attraction is desirable.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
  • Excellent computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with Ticketing and Booking systems.
  • Demonstrable ability to carry out detailed tasks with minimal direction or supervision.
  • Awareness and success in employee relations and equality and diversity.
  • Ability to speak to groups and address large gatherings of people.
  • Quick decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems within a retail context.
