We are currently recruiting a Head of Design Quality to work with the Vehicle Design senior leadership team to collectively deliver engineering designs to high quality within the parameters of the F1 technical and financial regulations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining standards, processes and procedures that guide the design office to deliver the highest quality product in the shortest time and with the needs of manufacturing and the component supply chain accounted for. The successful candidate will also recognise the importance of the bill of materials as a resource for several processes both inside and outside vehicle design.
As Head of Design Quality, you will be:

Leading a team of dedicated engineers and IT professionals whose purpose is to define, develop and maintain the engineering processes of the design office, improving our efficiency.

Accountable for ensuring our processes are aligned with the needs of the vehicle design teams and the partner departments in manufacturing, inspection, logistics, parts control, finance, programme management, aerodynamics and car build.

Governing and validating all design procedures, process standards, championing efficiency and streamlining of business systems to maximise productivity in Vehicle Design.

Responsible for setting objectives and delivery targets with team members and be responsible for managing projects to successful conclusions.

Responsible for agreeing, actioning and delivering new tools and process to support effective working within the Design Office and when required, the wider organisation.

Developing and maintaining departmental documentation to assist the organisation's design standards, PLM guides, processes and macros.
Our ideal candidate is someone who has:

An in depth understanding of fundamental engineering principles.

Experience with F1 design engineering or manager experience within F1. Candidates with experience of design or design management from other industries will be considered.

A creative, proactive approach to problem-solving, along with good attention to detail.

Confidence, and is well organised with the ability to clearly prioritise tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines, making sound decisions based on good judgement and seeking input as required.

An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and trends.

An appreciation of F1 design, structural analysis, manufacturing and inspection processes.

Working experience in the use of PLM, CAD & FEA software.
