Audi will be competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026. 
 
The new team has two locations. Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. The planned takeover by AUDI AG turns two teams into a factory team – and you can be part of it.

The position for the Audi F1 Project is at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

In the area of software, you will work on key components that brings the performance of the Power Unit to the racetrack and contribute to competitiveness in a highly competitive environment. You will work with an agile team to implement the dynamic requirements for the software and configuration of the Power Unit systems (Internal Combustion Engine, Electrical components, Battery and Power Electronics). You will support our testing crew on dyno and racing. Through testing at the component and system level, you will ensure the validation and continuous development of our Power Unit in the Audi F1 Project. Additionally, you will support test on dynos and during race week-ends in the OPS / Mission Control room in Neuburg.

Your Mission

You are responsible for configuring and maintaining critical control systems in our Formula 1 power unit. You will ensure the systems are delivering the best performance during dyno testing and race week-ends, providing runtime data to all PU development engineers and performance engineers. You will be active in further developing the software tools to achieve that goal.

  • Take full ownership of configuration data for critical Control hardware (ECU’s), providing commissioning and calibration support,
  • Develop and maintain system-configuration tools (application tools, databases)
  • Prescribe hardware tools for data acquisition and processing tools
  • Support the off-car tools developers in developing and maintaining data acquisition tools

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed university degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar
  • Proven experience with data analysis software/ tools used in high-end motorsport application (Atlas, System Monitor, TeamDB, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of Real-Time embedded systems, Embedded communication busses
  • Good knowledge of vehicle networks and protocols (CAN, XCP, automotive Ethernet)
  • Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink and its interface in the operating system
  • Experience in on- or off-track experience (OPS/ Mission Control) in high-end motorsport series
  • Willingness, high motivation and flexibility to support the GP races from Neuburg on weekends
  • Strong ability to work in a team
  • Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to learn a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites
