Purpose of Role

As Senior Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for leading operational activities for MSO, delivering bespoke content into MPC and furthermore, heritage & private commissions into the MSO workshop. As MSO’s complexity continues to evolve, this role is key in developing the capability to support the challenges we face.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead build readiness reviews, collating cross-functional inputs & summarising launch readiness actions
  • Leadership, planning, monitoring and control of operations deliverables to ensure all project gateway milestones are achieved.
  • Lead operations new model preparation with a plan for every part inclusive of supply routes, lead-times, capacity planning and uptake analysis
  • Identify and report on any delivery risk items ensuring corrective actions are in place any delays communicated to all stakeholders
  • Support the generation of timing plans that support full program delivery activities
  • Assist with the analysis and collation of program end reports on all lessons learned
  • Support the operations team in problem solving initiatives, and the implementation of containment and countermeasures
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and support delivery of improvements
  • Co-ordination of quality concern reports to capture and resolve quality issues (RCA activity and problem resolution support)
  • Support build quality compliance through co-ordination of containment and countermeasures of identified miss-builds
  • Support MSO operations compliance to ISO-9001/IATF-16949 standards, and resolution of any non-conformance

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • General understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and manufacturing
  • Project launch management with comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives
  • Ability to interrogate programme plans and evaluate the supply chain’s ability to deliver on time and to quality standards
  • Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills whilst adhering to accuracy and detail in reporting
  • Proactive mindset that designs creative solutions to strategic and operational challenges
  • An ability to apply problem solving techniques to identified issues
  • Drive to identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities
  • Ability to manage time effectively and clearly prioritise tasks for self and guide wider team in a dynamic and change-oriented environment
  • Strong excel and data interpretation skills
