Purpose of the Role: The role of the Senior Data & Strategy Analyst is to support our trackside engineering team with tooling and insights to inform all aspects of race strategy. This will include analysis of past strategy and performance as well as the development of new predictive tools to assist the team with trackside decision-making. The Senior Data & Strategy Analyst will be responsible for both the generation and communication of strategic insights, and will work with the race engineers, performance engineers, and race strategists to ensure that the team’s work is fully understood across the team.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Conduct research on large datasets using modern data science methods
  • Devise new techniques to leverage car performance data alongside timing and scoring data to inform on-track decision-making
  • Support our trackside engineering team by addressing data requests throughout event weekends
  • Contribute to our growing data and strategy toolsets to enable our engineers to interrogate on-track data in real time
  • Support the production of pre- and post-event strategy reports to share with the broader team

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Required

  • 4 or more years of experience in a data science or data analyst role
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Experience visualizing and communicating data at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to build and own complex data projects

Preferred

  • Strong preference for candidates with prior motorsport experience, though candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply
  • Experience using Pi Toolbox
  • Comfortable using MATLAB
  • Experience using JavaScript and d3.js for front-end data visualization development
