Job Summary:

Assist Finishing Lead with organizing and maintaining production in the Finishing Department

Job Role:

  • Assist Finishing Lead with rolling out new parts to employees
    • Training: To lead, mentor, assist, train lesser skilled Finishing Technicians in the fundamentals of trimming, bonding, assembly, and pattern/mold prep
    • Supervising
    • Provide a positive work environment
    • Facilitating processes
    • Provide positive and constructive criticism when looking over/reviewing Finishing Technician’s work product/technique and paperwork
    • Assist with first part prove out of production parts
    • Ensure all proper procedures for bonding/assembly are followed
    • To provide final inspection of bonded assemblies, this includes checklist documentation and Quality Control test methods (pressure testing, etc)
  • Assist Finishing Lead with material inventory control
    • Advise when running out of certain materials
    • Help control material waste
  • Assist Finishing Lead with ensuring procedures are followed at all times
    • Supervise employees when Finishing Lead is not available
    • Notify Manager of any discrepancies
    • Reinforce proper procedures at all times
  • Assist Finishing Lead with maintaining a clean and organized workspace
    • Reinforce cleaning procedures with employees if they aren’t being followed
  • Assist in maintaining a good/respectful work environment
    • Notify Finishing Lead of any improper behaviors
    • Provide and support a positive work environment
  • Assist Finishing Lead with ensuring required personal protective equipment (PPE) is being worn
    • Notify Finishing Lead of any violations
    • Reinforce required PPE with employee if they are not being followed
  • Back up to Finishing Lead and Management on how to increase efficiency
  • Advise Management of best manufacturing practices
  • Responsibilities also include Finishing Technician accountabilities/duties
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Must adhere to health and safety procedures, and all workplace policies
  • Assist Finishing Lead with work schedule to ensure production completion

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in composite manufacturing
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Positive, can do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings
  • Must be able to use small hand tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, manual routers, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices
  • Available evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Job Type:

  • Non-exempt, full time

Regular Hours of Work:

Normal Business Hours 7:00AM – 4:00PM, Mon-Fri; Weekends, Holidays and work hours as scheduled by Management.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying conditions
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • May involve operating material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Work may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc., requiring personal protective equipment
  • Some positions may require working with small parts/components, necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
