Account Manager - Motorsport

Responsible for developing sales through QA1 dealers and distributors. Works closely with dealers to ensure QA1 products are positioned and presented for the best exposure on their websites, and in their catalogs and physical locations. Also responsible for sales forecasts and execution thereof at assigned and new accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Applies knowledge of vehicle suspension systems, channel distribution network, company products and effective account management principles via phone, email, webinar and other communication channels
  • Demonstrates and effectively leverages knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as an understanding of the motorsports industry and current market conditions
  • Manages QA1 dealer and distributor relationships to positively impact sales growth and develop long-term, successful business relationships
  • Develops annual forecast, executes to meet/exceed annual sales plan for assigned accounts and overall territory
  • Learns and effectively utilizes QA1’s ERP system to log customer interactions, maintain customer contact data, generate data and reports to facilitate exceptional account management and customer service
  • Monitors and reports on assigned territory sales progress to management
  • Provides product quotations and updates customers’ annual product pricing as required
  • Achieves new business sales targets by prospecting and establishing new customer accounts - often working with outside sales representatives
  • Schedules and travels to and attends company events, territory accounts, industry trade shows and training sessions as needed to promote QA1 brand and products and further individual professional development
  • Performs duties and responsibilities from QA1 office building on a regular basis to provide training and other cross-functional assistance in support of achieving QA1’s overall annual sales plan
  • Interacts with channel partners to assist in building new product forecasting as well as forecast inputs throughout the entire product lifecycle
  • Promptly and professionally resolves any customer concerns on products, delivery, or accounting discrepancies as needed
  • Performs regular line reviews, analyzing channel partner inventory, out the door sales, product line sales trends, gap analysis, and drop ship history to identify additional sales opportunities
  • Remains up to date on QA1 and competitive brands’ positioning in the marketplace through available information resources, including print, Internet, and social media channels
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education & Experience

  • At least 5 years of progressive sales experience in multi-channel motorsports or powersports distribution
  • Ability to effectively sell into and operate within business-to-business as well as business-to-consumer environments
  • Adept at data gathering, accurate reporting and trend analysis. Basic math and strong Excel skills
  • Automotive/motorsports enthusiast is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or six to eight years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
