Our Team

Do you want to help us bring Audi to Formula 1? You can… with an internship or final thesis at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg an der Donau. Join us as we develop the power unit that will drive our racing cars from 2026. 
 
Our internships and final theses take at least four months and take place full-time on site in Neuburg. In addition to unique insights into the world of motorsport, we offer fair pay and make you part of the team that brings Audi to the pinnacle of motorsports. Audi Formula Racing GmbH is a subsidiary of Audi Sport and was founded in 2022 for the brand's Formula 1 entry. A team of experts who are passionate about developing the power unit will train and support you. 
 
Our positions are currently scheduled to start in September or October 2024, and to apply we need your current CV, relevant certificates, a certificate of enrollment and, if applicable, the examination regulations from your university as well as a current, official grade abstract. Important to know: Applicants from the EU require a valid identity card/passport; applicants from non-EU countries require a residence permit and, if necessary, a work permit. 
 
Please note that our final theses are always subject to a confidentiality note and, if necessary, a non-disclosure agreement must also be concluded with the university supervisor.

In your role as an intern, you will support the team in developing the F1 power unit software. In this way, you will contribute to the development of HV batteries and inverters for the next generation of F1 vehicles.

Your Mission

  • Model-based software development in MATLAB
  • Development and testing of MATLAB/Simulink-based tools
  • Testing of embedded software on HIL systems
  • Measurement data analysis to validate the functionality of different control units
  • Development in the area of high-voltage batteries and electric motors

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed basic studies in the field of computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics or a comparable course of study
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good programming skills
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB, ideally Simulink
  • Interest in embedded systems
  • Targeted, independent and structured working practices
  • Strong implementation skills and a high level of motivation and personal initiative
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Good command of German or English
