Sr Coordinator, On-Air Talent Management

The Senior Coordinator for On-Air Talent Management works alongside the Talent Development team to develop on-air talent to ensure the highest broadcasting quality. This role utilizes a keen understanding of the broadcasting industry, excellent communication skills, and advanced organizational skills. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedule, track, and manage talent schedule across content and production.
  • Identify potential on-air talent through various channels, including auditions, talent scouting, and industry networking.
  • Source new talent by maintaining regular communication with talent agencies and industry contacts.
  • Work with talent to set performance goals and execute agreed-upon development plans to achieve these objectives.
  • Manage and monitor all talent usage according to the contract.
  • Coordinate new talent auditions and chemistry tests.
  • Collaborate with Producers and Directors to align on-air talent with programming needs and assignments.
  • Recommend and influence the strengths of on-air talent to maximize audience engagement.
  • Execute talent booking strategy for guests.
  • Identify guests and follow up with content needs for studio shows, podcasts, and multiple content platforms. 
  • Liaise inter-departmentally to execute talent projects and track progress.
  • Manage monthly talent calendar for cross-departmental requests.
  • Manage voice-over and sales reads for talent and sales.  
  • Travel:  <5%

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university and five (5) years experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field, with at least two (2) years of broadcast talent management experience at an agency or media outlet; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in company-provided hardware and software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear and constructive feedback.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
