Pre Fit & Final Build Technician

Alpine F1 Team have a unique opportunity to join our Final Build & Test department in the Build & Test Group.

This role is critical to carry out the assembly, dis-assembly and servicing of both new and in service assemblies for the Race Team, Race Support Team, Dyno Projects, Pit Stop Equipment & Rig Cars.

The Role

Based at Enstone, this role will be responsible for:

  • Assembly/disassembly of all forms of an Alpine F1 car including but not limited to, wings, floors, chassis build, service work, rig cars
  • Assembly/disassembly of various mechanical assemblies in line with the company needs including; pit equipment, Simulator, Alpine Labs
  • Work to company & department standards, with the ability to continuously improve them
  • Work closely with design & engineering departments to continuously improve assembly & test procedures in line with company vision & objectives
  • Create collaborative working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Accountability in all activities ensuring work is carried out to the highest standards, ensuring correct use & maintenance of the equipment & prompt escalation of any issues
  • Responsible for maintaining the workshops, keep equipment clean, organised & in safe condition to work
  • Work to the relevant lifing & ERP systems
  • Flexibility to cover external events & provide support to other departments when required

In terms of technical skills, you will:

  • Be able to understand and apply learning quickly
  • Be able to learn how to read engineering drawings, standards, technical specification documents and record and report results, findings, and relevant information in a clear and efficient manner
  • Have good numeracy and mechanical/manual skills with a high attention to detail
  • Be PC literate with good working knowledge of MS Office Products
  • Have intermediate understanding of the race car systems, their function, assembly, repair and service requirement
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician in motorsports is advantageous
