Composite Laminate Engineer

Within the Engineering Office we have a new vacancy for Composite Laminate Engineer.

 

Composite Laminate Engineer - The Role

Working within the Composite Design group. Reporting to the Composite Laminate Group Leader, the successful candidate will work on a variety of F1 carbon composite car components. You must be comfortable in challenging yourself and other with respect and passion to drive out projects forward whilst striving to achieve the best result possible. You will exhibit an in-depth understanding of composite manufacturing processes along with a strong attention to detail.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Working closely with Composite Designers & Structural Engineers to produce laminate designs to the highest levels of performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Supporting components throughout the product life cycle and supporting the team reliability function
  • Close collaboration with internal manufacturing department to ensure fully integrated designs achieving the optimal car performance.
  • Generating laminate detail in 3dx/CPD

 

Composite Laminate Engineer - The Person

We are looking for an individual who has extensive experience of working in Composite Engineering or Composite Manufacturing role in motorsport, preferably in an F1 team. Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail are a must, alongside the ability to work under pressure.

They must also possess the following:

  • High level of Composite manufacturing experience with good understanding of materials & manufacturing techniques
  • Having multiples year of experience in F1 or another top-level motorsport category would be an advantage.
  • Good experience of Dassault 3D Experience, Catia V5 beneficial
  • Good experience of CPD or Fibersim beneficial
  • Excellent collaborative and communication skills to ensure cross departmental integration.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work under limited supervision to tight deadlines.
