Marketing & Communications Project Manager

OVERVIEW: The Marketing & Communications Project Manager at Pratt Miller is responsible for planning and overseeing marketing efforts to promote Pratt Miller’s business units (Motorsports, Defense and Mobility) along with corporate communication initiatives. The role will be working with third party creative agencies to create and deliver marketing assets, including print, video, and digital content used at tradeshows, events, and internal purposes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS: Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Project Planning

  • Identify, establish, manage, and maintain positive working relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the successful execution of projects
  • Prepare project budgets based on scope of work, resource requirements and tracks project costs
  • Serve as primary marketing and communications representative in internal and cross-departmental projects
  • Meet with other departments to generate detailed scopes of work and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Monitor project progress and coordinates with external vendors and stakeholders to make timely adjustments as needed
  • Create reports, compile results and other KPI indicators to track project performance
  • Analyze the successful completion of goals and identify areas for improvement and reports findings back to Director of Communications

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required.

  • Provide Pratt Miller support on internal company technology roadmap initiatives
  • Provide feedback on product needs and processes
  • Support program management office on process developments and improvements
  • Experience in project and program management methodology and techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong background in MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and experience in project cost estimating, budgeting, and resource allocation

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s level degree in marketing, communications, project management or related degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in communications, marketing, and project management

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Possess expert level quality writing and editing skills
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Expert level knowledge and use of Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced technical environment and with a strong ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to evaluate effectiveness of communications programs, redirect priorities and efforts as required
  • Ability to work with diverse teams
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with superiors, colleagues, vendors, partners, and customers
  • Knowledge of automotive and engineering field is strongly preferred
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Experience with event coordination, web development and marketing campaigns
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful in finding ways to complete tasks on time and with high quality

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • Work will typically be performed in a team-based office environment
  • Long hours may be required at times
