What to Expect
Working in the cross functional Data Operations Team, you will perform a vital function to adapt and deliver our services to meet the evolving demands of the business whilst ensuring SAP business critical Master Data, Bills of Materials and Variant Configuration models build accurate vehicle specifications. You will be expected to challenge existing conventions and drive innovation in how and what we do.
You will also contribute, in conjunction with IT, to the broader Data Insights Strategy. This will encompass data ingestion design, data hosting and transformation, insight delivery and enforcing appropriate governance models where needed. You will take responsibility for the full delivery lifecycle of individual Data Insight projects that support our Smart Factory strategy.
The role will work with IT teams and external partners to enhance our systems and processes to support changing business requirements, troubleshoot issues raised from business users and act as a subject matter expert sharing knowledge both within and outside the immediate team.
What You'll Do
- Analyse Engineering Bill of Materials using SAP Product Structure management tools to ensure support for accurate ordering & scheduling of materials and builds the correct customer specification.
- Create the structure of the Manufacturing Bill of Materials using SAP product structure synchronisation tools and run simulations of the BoM to ensure the materials are selecting correctly according to product configuration rules.
- In SAP, the design and creation of product configuration rules and data models that will ensure the final vehicle build matches the product specification ordered and conforms to regional and compliance requirements.
- Support Ingestion Pipelines design that feed the corporate Data Lake hosted in Microsoft Azure and ensure they meet insight consumption requirements.
- Implement and support Microsoft PowerBI and PowerApp solutions in collaboration with IT and aligned to business solution owner requirements.
- Provide a central source of knowledge on option and feature content of the product data model to a range of stakeholders including Engineering, Manufacturing, PDM, Sales, Project Management, Design Studio and Central Planning.
- Work collaboratively as a central source of knowledge to the wider business in the best practice and correct use of SAP. Typical stakeholders include Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Quality Audit, Service, Sales & Finance.
- Data model and rules testing, as well as sales order regression testing, to ensure product configuration rules and dependencies are working correctly.
- Help develop others in the team by imparting your knowledge and experience through coaching and mentoring.
What You'll Bring
- Experience of leading projects and coordinating cross functional teams and initiatives
- Ability to interrogate, analyse SAP to be able to provide resolutions and data screening
- Knowledgeable use of SAP PLM, Product Structures, Material Master (MM)
- Experience of working with IT and technical partners to deliver required outcomes
- Understanding of workflow principles, execution and management
- Experience of managing and maintaining system-based rules and logic
- Methodical evaluation of results and apply corrections
- SAP variant configuration experience
- Microsoft Office literate with experience of advanced Excel features such as Functions, Formulas, Lookups and Pivots
- Experience of Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Data verse)
- Experience of Computer Programming, SQL (or similar) and Relational Database Management Systems
