Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

General Summary:

This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer or their designee; and is located in Banbury, UK. This role manages the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) processes for the team and plays a significant part in the reporting & ongoing compliance with the FIA Financial Regulations. This role has one direct report, the Assistant Finance Business Partner.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentoring, training, and guidance to help develop direct reports including the use of effective performance reviews and development plans.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Leads the FP&A processes for the team throughout the year, such as the annual budget and quarterly forecasts. Including assumptions, timelines, templates and reporting.
  • Prepares month end reporting analysis for senior management with detailed commentary on revenue, contracts, departmental expenses, capex & headcount actuals vs budgets/forecasts.
  • Continuously develops Power BI reporting capabilities for the finance team to streamline the analysis of performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepares ad hoc financial analysis.

 

Business Partnering

  • Leads monthly budget review meetings highlighting potential financial risks or opportunities.
  • Provides timely financial analysis to budget holders enabling effective decision making.
  • Proactively engage with budget holders to drive improvements and support budget holder initiatives.

 

FIA Financial Regulations

  • Prepares interim & full year reporting for the FIA Financial Regulations.
  • Review monthly expenditure to ensure accurate reporting of exclusions and adjustments.
  • Continuously develop processes to ensure the accurate reporting on all FIA Financial Regulation matters.
  • Liaises with external auditors on Agreed Upon Procedures process.
  • Liaises with the FIA Cost Cap Administration to help ensure compliance.

Other

  • Prepares or reviews month end activities.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.

 

Education and Work Experience:

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification preferred with 5 years of post-qualified work experience. A suitable grounding in accounting principles and an understanding of FRS 102 and group accounting preferred.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, communication and confidentiality.
  • Be flexible and opened minded when dealing with problems.
  • Highly motivated and keen whilst also being able to work under time pressures to meet monthly reporting and filing deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft D365 and Power BI preferred will be beneficial.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some occasional domestic & international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
