Position Overview
Primarily responsible for the integrity of the design, development, and improvement of the race car components to maximize vehicle function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpreting and translating data related to the design, development, and improvement of the race car components and systems to maximize vehicle function
- Managing various projects related to the design and performance of the race car related components and systems
- Works directly with Senior Race Engineer on running simulation tool to determine set-ups and changes
- Supporting trackside testing and racing
- Utilizing engineering principles to enhance vehicle design and performance
- Assisting in the car setup, testing, and analysis as needed
- Altering and modifying designs to obtain specified functional and operational performance
- Responsible for simulation, statistical data, and fuel mileage
- During the race you will take notes on the feedback from driver and race situations
- Travels each weekend with limited contact with race equipment
- Other duties as assigned by Manager
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree (four-year college or technical school) required
- Mechanical Engineering or related degree preferred
- 3+ years of motorsports experience preferred
- Advanced computer skills required
- Experience with Engineering software, such as MATLAB, Simulink, etc. preferred
- Thorough understanding of vehicle dynamics and race related performance engineering principles required
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
