Vehicle Dynamics Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

The vehicle dynamics engineer is responsible for the implementation of simulation software within the race teams and the Engineering Department. Must be capable of maintaining excellent standards and establishing a correlation between simulations and track measurements. Will be responsible for conducting and reporting rig and laboratory testing. The vehicle dynamics engineer will maintain and improve communication between departments. 

  • Develop and support methods and software tools for analyzing vehicle performance. 
  • Establish a correlation between simulation and track measurements. 
  • Support race teams with pre-event analysis through vehicle simulations and analysis methods.
  • Assist the data acquisition group when required with hardware and system configuration support. 
  • Analyze and report simulation, rig, and laboratory results. 
  • Conduct rig and laboratory testing.

 

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • MSC ADAMS, Modelica / Dymola, VI-CRT or equivalent vehicle simulation experience.
  • Experience utilizing Pi Toolbox, McLaren ATLAS, MoTeC, or equivalent data analysis software.
  • Experience programming with C, C#, VB.Net, MATLAB, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Motorsports Engineering, preferably trackside.
