Composite Production Planner

An opportunity has arisen within Carbon Component Solutions (“CCS”) Production Team for a Composite Production Planner.

Summary

As a Composite Production Planner, you will be a vital part of our manufacturing team, responsible for coordinating production schedules, optimizing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of composite components. With premium skills in ERP, Supply chain, and continuous improvement, you will play a key role in streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency.

In this role, you will be scheduling work across the composite manufacturing departments that includes kit cutting, laminating, curing, trim/assembly, machining, and inspection, along with external liaison.

The composite team are responsible for the manufacture of structural and non-structural components for motorsport, automotive, marine along with aerospace R&D.

Candidates are responsible for: -

  • Create and maintain production schedules to ensure all company goals are achieved and deadlines are met.
  • Enter data into our progress plus database by inputting alphabetical and numerical information using an established procedure.
  • Compile information from different sources including customer, supplier and internal documentation to assist in the implementation and control of daily/weekly/monthly production schedule for Kit Cutting, Laminating, Trimming, Inspection and goods out / delivery, ensuring required changes and updates are undertaken in a timely manner and all relevant staff are given updated schedules.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and liaise with the internal department team leaders with regards to the production schedule planning and to assist in addressing any issues that may affect workflow.
  • Control and responsibility for all aspects of the daily production schedule. Ensuring customer delivery dates and requests are considered in accordance with the production schedule, advising the Production Manager of issues.
  • To liaise with staff from CCS to optimise the use of plant, such as autoclaves and ovens, to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Liaise with the members of staff responsible for material and BOM requirements with regards to availability and timings to ensure items are available for continuous production. Assessing the impact of unavailable material and BOM on the schedule.
  • Assist the Production Manager with the creation of recovery schedules when required.
  • Attend daily production meetings, having key input into the meetings with status reporting.
  • Monitor adherence to the schedule.
  • Ensure Inspection has the relevant time built into the plan to inspect & issue paperwork for the components to be delivered. Monitor components prior to despatch. Awareness of NCR issues which may affect delivery dates.
  • Liaise with customers on delivery expectations
  • Organise the despatch and delivery of goods to customers when required inc delivery note creation.
  • Liaise with external process suppliers with regard to timeframes.
  • Assist where required during a production team members absence.
  • Monitor and validate lead times to ensure the effective planning of new orders in line with product flows paths and planned volumes.

Candidate specification: -

  • Preferably degree qualified in Manufacturing, Engineering or Business.
  • Understanding of composite manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrated background in planning/scheduling roles.
  • Strong planning, organizational skills with attention to detail are required.
  • High analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proactive thinker with attention to detail.
  • Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as Progress Plus would be advantageous.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

Rate of pay: Competitive

Hours: Mon - Fri 8.30 am - 5.30 pm (additional hours maybe required during the busier periods)
