HR Representative

The HR Representative will play a crucial role in supporting specific business units within the company while specializing in recruiting and onboarding-related functions. The Representative will work closely with senior HR members to assist in day-to-day functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and administrative tasks.   This is not a remote position and is required to work in the office daily.

The Representative will successfully manage talent acquisition needs by composing and posting employment vacancies, developing recruitment sourcing plans, managing application tracking, conducting resume and phone screenings, recommending and arranging interviews for hiring managers, and managing the candidate recruiting process from request generation to onboarding.  The HR Representative will build and foster positive and productive relationships with the management and employees of their business unit.  The Representative will also help with employee relations and be a source for HR-related questions and needs.  The ideal candidate will have prior Human Resources experience, with a background in technical recruiting being an asset.  

The successful candidate for the role will be someone looking to gain experience in a variety of disciplines with Human Resources.  Although recruiting and onboarding will be central to this position, a willingness to learn, assist and operate in the broader field of HR is a must.  This position requires a Human Resources career-minded individual that possesses proven professional, organizational and communication skills.  Initiative, timeliness and accountability are nonnegotiable.  

Responsibilities:

  • Compose and maintain job postings on both internal and external job boards. 
  • Screen resumes daily. 
  • Conduct remote screenings, in-person interviews, and new employee orientations.
  • Schedule interviews and candidate travel. 
  • Gather details and draft job descriptions. 
  • Data entry and file management. 
  • Prepare and conduct functions associated with both employee onboarding and exits.
  • Assist assigned business units with employment-related questions by becoming the subject matter expert for HR inquiries and needs.  
  • Learn, comprehend and exercise skills for a broad range of HR disciplines.
  • Work with the other HR partners to complete projects on an as-needed basis. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to Business or Social Sciences required. 
  • Proven track record of professionalism.
  • 2+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Human Resources.
  • Prior experience in recruiting, specifically technical recruiting, is preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs; prior HRIS experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience using applicant tracking and recruiting software/websites is desired.
  • Prior experience with immigration is preferred.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Open-minded with a flexible thought process and proven ability to problem-solve.  
  • Demonstrated skill in prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and needs from more than one source.  Including managing time, focusing and responding appropriately.
  • Ability to fact gather and make solution recommendations.
  • Be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
