Manager, Partner Content Planner (12-months FTC)

Purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to lead the end-to-end planning, production, and delivery of best-in-class partner content and campaigns to deliver against our commercial targets. You will use your specialist knowledge to provide consultancy to partner managers, helping them to translate contractual rights into engaging content for McLaren’s global fan base.

The postholder is accountable for implementing clear processes and guidelines and liaising directly with partners to maintain the highest standard of partner activation on McLaren Racing’s digital and social media channels. The role holder will also have line managerial responsibilities of the Senior Executive, Partner Content Planner.

You will use your best endeavors to plan partner content and campaigns at least 6 months in advance and align with our social and content teams.


Role dimension

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract.

You will report to the Associate Digital Director and be a part of McLaren Racing’s wider digital team, working in close collaboration with our content and social media teams. You will have one direct report, the Senior Executive, Partner Content Planner.

This role provides hybrid working but requires you to be at the McLaren Technology Centre (Woking, UK) at least three days per week.

McLaren operates in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, and the nature of racing on weekends and working in social media means regularly working during unsocial hours.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with partner managers and act as strategic advisor to find the best way to activate their contractual rights on McLaren Racing's digital channels.
  • Ensure partner content and campaigns is integrated with McLaren Racing’s broader content plan at least 6-months in advance.
  • Put robust processes in place to protect the quality of output on McLaren Racing’s digital and social channels, while protecting the content team’s workload
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the Digital team to ensure partners use the full digital ecosystem to activate partnerships, from owned and operated channels to social media channels.
  • Develop new and innovative and engaging branded series to generate value for partners.
  • Work with the data & insights specialist to understand partner campaign performance and what learnings can be taken into future campaigns.
  • Advise the Partnership Development team on digital and social media rights packages for prospect new deals and renewals.
  • Support the content team with the planning and delivery of productions, including in-person support on location when required.
  • Managerial responsibilities of the Senior Executive, Partner Content Planner.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experiences

  • Extensive experience in content planning, working with big brands.
  • Experience with working with partners or high-level stakeholders.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to multi-task projects, priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator. You have engaging interpersonal skills and are comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels, including partners.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems when problems arise.
  • Strong negotiation skills to manage the expectations of stakeholders during the content planning and delivery process.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren
Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working
with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London
