Logistics Team Leader - Motorsport

What to Expect

Supporting the Logistics department, you will work with personnel from Motorsport, MSO, MPO and MPC. You shall also deal with external customers as part of our daily business.

Stores functions, Quality, Transport drivers, After-sales and Production to ensure material requirements for all model builds, internal customer & aftersales orders are satisfied in a timely and accurate manner.

What You'll Do

  • Managing production lineside inventory function for the logistics operation
  • Managing adherence to delivery schedules in line with production requirements, supplier lead times, and warehousing capacities for Motorsport Unit 1 & 5
  • Continuously being aware of, and pro-actively addressing potential or actual shortages
  • Close liaison with other disciplines within the logistics organisation, as well as other departments especially Warehouse, Material Control and Quality
  • Minimising warehouse stock out’s through the management of stock accuracy
  • Ensure health and safety standards are achieved on an ongoing basis and actively promote individual responsibility for health and safety
  • Review, improve and administer the operating environment through establishing and maintaining housekeeping standards
  • Follow standard operating procedures and actively pursue the elimination of waste through the application of continuous improvement tools and techniques
  • Ensuring all internally arranged freight is managed and accounted for into the business
  • PI –Stock Accuracy
  • Ensuring all discrepancies are dealt with swiftly and resolutely
  • To issue parts to the Production line on time, and collection of empty stillages/kanban boxes to be returned to stores for replenishment
  • To liaise with Production to ensure continued running, to respond to any queries regarding lineside shortages and replacement parts quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure issues are captured and communicated to the relevant department, and to escalate accordingly
  • Be responsible for all Health and Safety policy within the area, ensuring Health and Safety reps are advised of any issues
  • To constantly monitor lineside stock accuracy, and resolve issues where necessary
  • To be responsible for relevant KPI`s as advised

What You'll Bring

  • Detailed working understanding of Logistics and associated up and down stream processes
  • Previous experience within the manufacturing industry, especially automotive serial production
  • Applicants should be numerate, good communicators, IT literate with experience of using MRP, warehousing systems and SAP
  • Development and experience of key performance indicators
  • RCA of discrepancies
