Student internship in the area of internal combustion engine testing and simulation development

Our Team

The thermodynamic design and entire testing of the high-performance drivetrain for use on the racetrack takes place in the internal combustion engine testing/simulation development department. The range of tasks includes the entire development process chain from the first concept draft up to the operational drive on the test bench.

Your Mission

As an intern, you will be involved directly in current testing processes. Your range of tasks will include working on the preparation, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of tests on component, powertrain, and engine test beds, and assisting in the area of damage analysis. Development subareas such as combustion processes, charging, and application combined with reliability round off your future scope of work.

Your Profile

• Completed basic studies in a technical course of studies such as mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, fluid mechanics
• Knowledge of the action mechanisms in the internal combustion engine (mechanics and thermodynamics)
• Knowledge in the areas of measuring technology, tribology, and materials science
• Basic skills dealing with common programming languages 
• Good basic technical knowledge
• Basic knowledge of engine management systems
• An interest in motorsports
• Targeted, independent, and structured work practices
• Strong implementation skills and a high level of motivation and personal initiative
• Excellent team skills
• Good command of German or English
