About the role:

We're seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our growing agile software development group in the Race Team.  

You’ll deliver on key projects to continuously develop more comprehensive insights from our data, driving our race performance. Partnering with key areas of the business, you’ll enhance existing tools and systems, deliver exciting new projects and manage internal customer experiences and expectations.  

You’ll help to streamline our software development projects and processes and build the capabilities of our team to deliver real value to the business. Your work will push our team performance both on and off track, and you’ll get the opportunity to work with a wide range of key stakeholders, delivering high-value projects with a real-world impact.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual who has proven experience, working collaboratively in a software team who has delivered flexible, scalable and maintainable solutions to complex problems. 

  
 What you'll do:  

  • Work with the Race Team to design and build applications, helping them make informative decisions at critical times over a race weekend. 

  • Collaborate with the software development team, building a supportive environment and developing capabilities to ensure the smooth delivery of major technical projects. 

  • Streamline our software engineering projects and processes with the team, ensuring seamless customer experiences and advocating best practices. 

 To be successful you will have: Essential: 

  • Degree in Computer Science (or similar, for example Maths, Engineering, Physics). 

  • Relevant –Software Engineering experience (including internships and graduate schemes). 

  • Experience with a frontend web development framework (such as Svelte, React, or Angular).  

  • Built REST APIs or gRPC services using an appropriate language (such as Python or Go).  

  • Knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and willingness to own delivery from requirement analysis through to deployment. 

  • Dedicated to producing high-quality, maintainable code. 

  • Highly motivated individual able to use their initiative to resolve development challenges. 

  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing key stakeholder relationships. 

 

Desirable: 

  • Knowledge of using Docker to containerise applications and Kubernetes for deployment. 

  • Experience using Websockets. 

  • Use of TailwindCSS in projects. 

  • Experience using Kafka or a similar message broker. 

  • Exposure to Azure DevOps.
