Aerodynamics Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the team to design, develop and maintain software and computational tools used by the Aerodynamics Department.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Aero Software Team to design, develop, and implement all aspects of innovative application development using agile principles and working practices.
  • Write well-structured, maintainable code, following and championing coding standards as defined by the Digital Performance Technologies (DPT) software and development team.
  • Learn and adopt the technologies and tools defined by the DPT software and development team, research and POC new ideas for potential introduction to the group.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders to define and develop solutions to business problems.
  • Enhance and support existing systems.
  • Implement appropriate testing and quality assurance.
  • Take ownership of application support where appropriate.
  • Contribute toward improving software process within the Aero team.
  • Support and mentor other members of the team.

Skills and experience required:

  • Previous proven experience with object orientated programming (C#.Net Core)
  • Experience with data persistence technologies (Relational, Document, TimeSeries, Bucket)
  • Experienced in the use of modern desktop technologies (WPF, MVVM)
  • Experienced in the use of modern web technologies (ASP.Net Core, React, Blazor, gRPC, Rest)
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communications.
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn.
