Honda Racing Corporation has established a new subsidiary, Honda Racing Corporation UK Ltd. (HRC UK) in the UK.
This new company has been founded to primarily perform post-race maintenance and preparation tasks on the Honda built current F1 power units (PUs), whilst also operating as a logistics operation for the European region. The establishment of HRC UK will further enhance the effectiveness of Honda’s PU operations, in support of the partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team. In May 2023, Honda and Aston Martin F1 jointly announced they will enter into works partnership so that Honda will supply its F1 PUs compliant with the new F1 regulations which will take effect in the 2026 season.
The IT Support Engineer will provide effective 1st line and 2nd line as well as some 3rd line support across all aspects of the UK business, providing excellent service to a wide range of users.
This job holder will take ownership of user/associates problems, perform a technical diagnosis and fix the issue/s either remotely or on-site. The IT Support Engineer will work independently to provide a high standard of Incident and Problem Management and effectively resolve new issues, while finding the root cause of problems and designing and implementing the problem recurrence prevention process/method. This role also involves proactively capturing and documenting, as well as sharing the technical knowledge and experience to ensure improving standards within the team.
The role is based within an exciting, fast-paced, multicultural and multinational setting, where excellent communication skills and a high degree of motivation are required.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Providing 1st line/2nd line and some 3rd line technical support to users/associates by phone, email & face to face. At times users/associates requiring support may be remote to the main offices, this could include associates working at regional offices, track side or other remote-based locations. Third line support to assist with holiday/sickness cover for other team members may be required.
• Troubleshooting Laptop/Desktop and system problems, diagnosing and solving hardware / software incidents and problems, as well as implementing improvements.
• Escalating IT issues to relevant third parties or IT Manager of Honda Motor Europe (HME) where necessary, following up to ensure timely resolution.
• Sharing knowledge with the IT team of Honda’s European entity to improve standards
• Providing exceptional service support to the business.
• Providing solutions/work arounds to incidents and problems.
• Prioritising and managing several open cases.
• Participating in infrastructure and technical projects and managing tech rollouts.
• Completing internal user moves including desktop equipment and phones.
• Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements.
• Conducting all IT Inductions and IT-related Onboarding actions.
• Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops.
• Ensuring security and upgrades are applied to desktops/laptops and kept up to date.
• Planning and performing system upgrades.
• Documenting and sharing technical knowledge, creating technical SOPs, guides etc
• Advising on IT purchases, procurement and management of supplies and suppliers
• Providing support for AV Equipment including ClickShare and VC
• Providing applications support for Microsoft 365 i.e. Share Point.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Good working knowledge of Active Directory support and trouble shooting and administration.
• Good working knowledge of Wintel administration and implementation experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in network troubleshooting, TCP/IP and general WAN/ LAN /VPN troubleshooting.
• Experience of supporting and maintaining of Desktops/Laptops and Server environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications specifically Microsoft 365.
• Knowledge of Mobile Data Management (MDM) - Airwatch / Intune – desirable.
• Knowledge of Virtualisation (VMWare or Citrix) administration is desirable.
• Experience of SEP(Symantec Endpoint Protection) administration or CS(Crowd Strike) administration are desirable.
• Knowledge of Programming language is desirable.
• Ability to use MS Office applications and tools to produce quality documentation.
• Driving licence and competence to drive in the U.K.
