To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for a Senior Hybrid Controls Software Engineer to join our team.

What You'll Do

  • Reporting to the Principal Hybrid Control Systems Engineer, the Senior Hybrid Controls Software Engineer will work on all aspects to define, design and deliver hybrid control functions including requirements, interfaces and algorithms.
  • Implement control functions in MATLAB Simulink/Stateflow
  • C-code generation and analysis
  • Conduct SW components testing using MIL and SIL techniques
  • Testing SW components within the system on the HIL
  • SW components verification & validation against requirements
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver software components

What You'll Bring

  • Degree level education in a relevant Engineering discipline – mechanical, electrical, electronics, automotive, software, computer science, etc.
  • Model-based, auto-coded software prototyping and production implementation
  • Support vehicle software testing and calibration
  • Excellent control theory background
  • Deep understanding of hybrid powertrain architectures and control strategies, including familiarity with engine and transmission control algorithms
  • Experience working with electric motor controllers, HV/LV DC-DC converters, charging management systems, and HV/LV battery management systems
  • Strong understanding of HV safety principles and standards
  • Proficiency in interpreting automotive requirements at both vehicle and system levels
  • Software requirements capture and detailed software design into specifications
  • Model-based control software development and verification
  • AUTOSAR software components generation and integration
  • Verification testing in MIL, SIL and HIL environments, and in-vehicle integration
  • Compliance to industry standards such as ISO26262 and ASPICE
  • Demonstrative experience in the automotive sector
