PLM Technical Lead

The Position:

PLM is a sub-section of Software Development which is part of the Digital Performance Technologies (DPT) department. The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team covers CAD/CAM/CAE/PLM and Manufacturing Systems.

We are currently seeking a PLM Technical Lead to focus on four main areas of work:

  • At elbow support / resolving helpdesk tickets for Manufacturing

  • Mentoring and training

  • Project based work – process development and improvement

  • Day to day system administration

As a PLM Technical Lead you will:

  • Ensure a good relationship is maintained between IT and Manufacturing

  • Make sure all work undertaken is focused on Manufacturing with close collaboration with other departments where applicable, such as providing the systems knowledge link between Vehicle Design and Manufacturing

  • Be involved on larger site wide projects with focus on delivering success for Manufacturing

  • Identify and implement improvements to the process, systems or controls which reduce cost, improve product quality and competitive position

  • Ensure IT procedures are followed

  • Work with PLM Leads and the wider business to build and maintain a roadmap that meets the manufacturing objectives and key results

  • Liaise and work with the rest of the PLM Team to ensure joined up thinking and development

  • Ensure the day to day availability of manufacturing tools, planning and delivering scheduled maintenance and upgrades

  • Lead end-to-end user acceptance testing activities

  • At elbow support within Manufacturing

  • Manage and develop training material

  • Work closely with colleagues across Williams to build and maintain credibility with stakeholders, users and external organisations

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, and evaluate the potential application and adherence to the company's digital strategy

  • Authorise and maintain system administration and end user documentation

  • Have the ability to work extended or cover out of hour’s upgrades or outages

  • Participate in a rota with other team members for out-of-hours support

Skills and experience required:

  • Comfortable using the Siemens PLM Teamcenter product suite of software such as Active Workspace, Visualization, NX and Fibersim (training can be provided)

  • Help develop and maintain software applications for the manufacturing group in C# or TCL languages

  • Familiarity with Siemens NX Application development would be beneficial

  • Have a practical experience and understanding in composite manufacturing and assembly process

  • An understanding of CNC machining and programming techniques.
