Licensing Manager, Retail

Formula One Management Ltd is currently seeking a Retail Licensing Manager to oversee F1’s portfolio of retail licensees. The Licensing Manager will report to the Senior Licensing Manager, focusing on management and growth of Formula 1’s current retail licensee partners across trackside  and ecommerce.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Full account management of key licensees across F1's trackside retail programme and ecommerce platforms
  • Work with internal departments to support licensees and ensure we deliver continued revenue growth through those partners;
  • Liaise with F1 teams and other external stakeholders to support licensees and maximise opportunities.
  • Lead the management of the day to day commercial operations of the retail licensing business, with the support of the Senior Licensing Manager
  • Managing the strategic development of the retail licensing programme to deliver key growth and fan engagement objectives;
  • Lead in the day-to-day management of trackside and ecommerce licensees, including across product and concept development, quality assurance, coordinating approvals of F1 IP, marketing and promotional activity and financial reporting;
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, including F1 teams, promoters, and partners;
  • Develop a deep understanding of partner delivery timelines, operational requirements, commercial objectives, growth strategies and KPIs;
  • Support the wider team in agreeing new partnerships and renewals;
  • Management of the budget, forecasting, collection of royalty reports and invoicing for licensees;
  • Overall administrative responsibilities for the team including upkeep of licensee trackers, processing of internal and external F1 product orders and other ad-hoc requests;
  • Produce presentations and other collateral that help the wider team monitor licensee performance;
  • Remain up to date with the latest industry developments and best practices.

About You

  • Solid experience in sports and/ event retail or retail brand licensing
  • Proven track record of delivering against retail / licensing revenue targets
  • Project management and demonstrated organisational experience
  • Strong account management skills and understanding of licensing business models
  • An excellent project manager and relationship builder that creates win-win partnerships
  • Commercial mindset, strategic and detail-orientated in project execution
  • Ability to express and present ideas or facts concisely and precisely
  • At ease working with legal teams and understanding long-form legal agreements
  • Comfort with analytics, excel modelling, royalty tracking and forecasting
  • Ability to prioritise and handle numerous tasks simultaneously
  • An understanding of Formula 1 will be an advantage
  • Team player with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
  • Resourceful with a focus on detail
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations with poise, confidence and humour
  • Willingness to travel, including over weekends
