Deputy Editor, Motorsport Global

ROLE: Deputy Editor, Motorsport Global

Motorsport: Global Edition is looking for a deputy editor to help lead the brand’s evolution. The role will work closely with the editor-in-chief on all things editorial—particularly leading the site’s day-to-day output while working in sync with the site’s News Editor to marry the brand’s trusted paddock-level reporting with coverage that expands into lifestyle, culture, trend-driven features, and ambitious packages. This is a new role, designed for someone who loves motorsports and understands how to widen the aperture on the type of storytelling—on site, social, and beyond—that captivates committed racing fans and newcomers alike.

This is a full-time role eligible for benefits.

ABOUT MOTORSPORT
Motorsport is the leading global voice for racing fans, marrying straight-from-the-source reporting on Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR, MotoGP, and more with coverage of the lifestyle, culture, and live experience of motorsports.

Motorsport has 18 editions worldwide, including the Motorsport Global Edition, which is headquartered in New York City. It is a part of the Motorsport Network, which also includes Autosport, Motor1, InsideEVs, and RideApart.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
You care deeply about motorsports, particularly Formula 1 (though we love all our motorsport children dearly). You have editorial management experience, demonstrable story editing chops, strong organization, and the ability to develop staff writers’ talents while also inviting fresh voices into the mix. You know how to do important internet things, like SEO optimization and writing attention-grabbing headlines. You understand how to take a great idea or a fresh voice and work across departments to see it blossom on multiple platforms.

Most importantly, you’re eager to build something new in the motorsports landscape.

In addition to meeting the qualifications below, interested applicants should submit a brief cover letter that includes links to (or a PDF with) examples of published work — written or edited — that aligns with the role and showcases your skill.
