We are currently looking for an experienced Transport and Customs Coordinator to join our Logistics and Compliance team here at Williams Racing. In this role you will assist with the general administration and operations of imports and exports along with transport administration. This is a fast-paced environment that would suit a well organised individual who would like to expand their knowledge within international shipping and customs. A basic knowledge and interest of Imports and Exports is essential with further training and development available for the right candidate. Develop good working relations and communication with stakeholders and freight suppliers.

As a Transport and Customs Coordinator, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Maintain the day-to-day administration of the businesses Imports - issuing clearance instructions to parcel carriers and freight forwarders in a timely manner.

  • Maintain the import database checking documentation for discrepancies and address incorrect documentation with customs brokers.

  • Liaise with stakeholders on Exports where required, arrange freight movements by road, sea, and air. Prepare commercial invoices for international shipments. Knowledge of international customs requirements would be beneficial.

  • Assist with European load plans to ensure accurate ATA Carnets are prepared, minimising any boarder delays.

  • Support in the packing and unpacking of freight including out of hours and weekend cover.

  • Assist the Team Leader with Logistics and Customs Compliance Audits

  • Communicate and assist internal departments and international suppliers on latest customs requirements, border changes, general updates, and UK customs procedures for inbound freight.

  • Assist in the electronic and paper filing of transport compliance documents, including but not limited to MOT’s PMI’s, general maintenance.

We are looking for a Transport and Customs Coordinator with the following experience:

  • Previous experience within a shipping and customs environment.

  • Knowledge of International Logistics

  • Knowledge of HMRC’s Import and Export systems along with a basic understanding of commodity codes and international borders.

  • Knowledge in Temporary Admissions and Inward Processing would be advantageous.

  • Known Consignor Training to Level 6 – Training and 5-year background checks are required for this role.

  • Forklift truck license beneficial, but not essential.

  • HGV Licence beneficial, but not essential.

  • IATA Dangerous Goods (Preferred but not essential)

In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions, five years’ continuous employment, education and/or training must be evidenced and any gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for.  A criminal record check will also be carried out.  This will be explained in more detail during interview.
