In 2019 Joe and Guenther decided to launch an AS9100 / ISO certified sister company called Composite Factory. Composite Factory’s primary focus is to diversify our business into Aerospace, Aero structures, Aviation and Defense, and the Medical industries that require a higher level of traceability and certification. Job Summary:

Ensure all parts manufactured within Fibreworks Composites or its sub-contractors meet the fit, form, and function criteria set by the customers and/or engineering standards. Composite Quality Control Inspector II examines finished carbon fibre product for defects or deviations from specifications.

Job Role:

  • General knowledge of composites design and manufacturing preferred
  • General knowledge of company process and product line
  • Understand and follow all written documents including standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, test methods and test specifications
  • Have the ability to perform inspection duties for carbon fibre components
  • Mechanical/dimensional inspection of a diverse product line
  • Visual inspection on workmanship criteria
  • Understanding of basic GD&T (blueprint reading)
  • Inspect parts using PCMM and other standard metrology equipment for weights and measures (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.) keeping detailed records (weights, checklists, reports, etc.) in an organized and standard fashion
  • Gather data from various tools, gages, and tooling systems and prepare quality
  • Document nonconformance via NCR process. Aim to achieve timely disposition of nonconforming parts.
  • Developing knowledge of company ERP system. Process incoming RMA's as assigned.
  • Bring problems/issues to attention of Quality Assurance Lead, Supervisor, Manager as appropriate
  • Work efficiently to achieve targeted goals as set by the production schedule
  • Communicate to the manufacturing team any issues or opportunities that may affect product quality
  • Multitask, prioritize work, and remain organized in job function
  • Must adhere to health and safety procedures, and all workplace policies
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • Others duties as assigned

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Experience: Must have a minimum of four (4) years of industry experience and in a similar role
  • Must have the ability, experience, and skills to be able to contribute to formal problem-solving activities
  • Composite Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of composite materials related manufacturing equipment and processes a plus
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to multitask
  • Attention to detail and good documentation practices
  • Self-starter, results-oriented individual with ability to organize and analyze data
  • Computer Skills: Proficient with MS Office products. Inspection software knowledge a plus.
  • Math Skills: Knowledge of basic math and computer skills are important because measuring, calibrating, and calculating specifications are major parts of quality control testing
  • Mechanical Skills: Must be able to use specialized tools and machinery when testing products (calipers, micrometers, depth gauge, gauge pins, Romer arm, etc.)
  • Technical Skills: Must understand blueprints, GD&T, technical documents, and manuals, ensuring that products and parts meet quality standards
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying conditions
  • Requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
  • May involve operating material handling equipment in a safe manner
  • Work may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc., requiring personal protective equipment
  • Some positions may require working with small parts/components, necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
