Fibreworks Composites was founded in 2009 and is privately owned by Guenther Steiner and Joe Hofmann. In 2019 Joe and Guenther decided to launch an AS9100 / ISO certified sister company called Composite Factory. Composite Factory’s primary focus is to diversify our business into Aerospace, Aero structures, Aviation and Defense, and the Medical industries that require a higher level of traceability and certification. Our core mission is to exceed our customers' needs by embracing challenges that surpass the capabilities of our competitors.

Job Summary:

Applies knowledge of materials, engineering theory, design methods, manufacturing systems, and processes to increase product manufacturability and cost effectiveness.

Job Role:

  • Develop and implement plans for cost reduction and manufacturing floor efficiency improvements
  • Follow production of mature projects to evaluate areas to improve overall cost effectiveness
  • Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues, safety issues, workflow improvements, delays in production, and process bottlenecks
  • Provide multi-directional feedback between engineering, manufacturing, and quality for continuous improvement
  • Evaluate and improve engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures
  • Design tools, generate drawings, and create work instructions to support production floor
  • Develop effective automated and non-automated systems
  • Provide feedback for training supervisors for documentation and implementation
  • Train staff in new and existing processes
  • Work with R&D engineers to test, develop, and validate processes for manufacturing improvements
  • Collaborate between engineering, project management, and manufacturing departments
  • Act as a single point of contact for vendor engagement of hard goods, maintain vendor relationships, evaluate new vendors
  • Must adhere to health and safety procedures, and all workplace policies
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Aerospace and Defense experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role
  • Basic understanding and experience using CAD software
  • Basic understanding of tolerances and their implications in composite manufacturing
  • Experience in process improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) concepts and methods
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Positive attitude, can do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
