IT Support Intern (12-month FTC)

General Summary:

This position reports to the Global Technology Operations Manager or their designee and is based in Banbury, UK.  As a IT Support Intern, you will be able to apply academic concepts to real-world business challenges, helping to support factory and trackside IT systems and service for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.  You will have the opportunity to develop, innovate and contribute from the ground up, playing a key part in the delivery of a best-in-class IT service for the team.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide 1st line technical support and troubleshoot technology issues (walk-up, phone, Teams & Service Desk) to onsite and remote users.
  • Manage workload in our Service Desk platform, operating to defined service level agreements and triaging calls.
  • Learn and assist in the administration and troubleshooting of IT services and systems including but not limited to: Windows, ServiceNow, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
  • Help develop and promote an innovative and proactive IT Service Delivery function.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Assist with asset, stock and license management.
  • Perform new starter account, hardware and software provisioning.
  • Perform end-user computer upgrades and migrations.
  • Develop scripts and code to assist in task automation.
  • Maintain video conference and meeting room systems.
  • Support F1 specific and hardware and software.
  • Ensure any reoccurring checks are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure up to date documentation and accurate reporting as required.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good understanding of Microsoft desktop environments and familiarity with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Good understanding of end-user computer hardware troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs.
  • Good awareness of cyber security.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Microsoft PowerShell.

General Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Adhere to all IT, Health & Safety and wider business processes.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Global Technology Operations Manager or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:  

  • GCSE, High School diploma or equivalent required. Working towards further education such as BSc or MIS in an IT related qualification is desirable. Demonstrate strong computer skills, a keen interest in technology, and a passion to learn in the role.
  • IT certifications are advantageous.
  • Exposure to racing and international environments is advantageous.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

 

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including some weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
