Race Engineers

SainteLoc Racing is seeking Race Engineers for its 2025 single-seater programs (FRECA, FRMEC, EUROCUP3, SPANISH F4, F4 UAE). Candidates with prior experience in these categories will be at an advantage and will report to the Chief Engineer of the relevant category. Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of setup and performance for one of the race cars, including data acquisition and driver communication.
  • Attend all races, testing and simulator sessions.
  • Prepare reports, graphs, tables, and other documentation, both trackside and at the factory, to summarize car and driver performance before and after events.
  • Develop, maintain, and set up engineering software.
  • Prepare and maintain technical worksheets and operational procedures.
  • Set up IT and radio systems on the track.
  • Assist in managing the garage and its infrastructure.
  • Perform tasks and duties assigned by the Chief Engineer of the category.

Education and work experience:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in single-seater racing is highly desirable.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Experience with Wintax is essential.
  • Strong understanding of lap time simulation software and vehicle dynamics/aerodynamics as they relate to racing cars.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink, VBA, or other programming software is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of work.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of French is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Eligibility to work in the EU is required. Please describe your eligibility status (e.g., EU Citizen, Work Permit, Visa).

This position is based in Saint-Étienne, near Lyon, France, in a state-of-the-art 5000 m² workshop. The role involves international travel and requires long, flexible hours.
