Motorcycle Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen at HM Racing for an experienced Workshop Technician to join our team.

HM Racing has a competitive history in the motorcycle racing industry. Over the years HM Racing have provided high spec race engines for British Superbike Racing teams including engines for Superstock and Supersport championships.
Supported riders and teams in National series and above all provided a very high quality service with great customer satisfaction.

We offer race prep, engine rebuilds, dyno mapping/tuning, suspension servicing & setup, along with the occasional general servicing.

The role is varied in its duties (examples listed below) and you must be a diligent worker with your first priority of customer satisfaction and utmost quality, whilst working to a defined scheduled. You will be working with a variety of manufactures & models including BMW, Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph, Suzuki, KTM, Husqvarna along with other brands, however we maintain a pedigree in motorsport and performance and avoid motorcycles of a less exotic nature.

A passion for motorcycles & good communication skills are essential as customer liaison will be required & our customers love to talk about their motorcycles as much as we do.

Duties:

  • Dyno operating and tuning (EFI mapping and Carburettor tuning)
  • Suspension full servicing and tuning
  • Suspension set up
  • Race bike building, preparation / servicing
  • Engine and chassis modification and tuning
  • General servicing
  • Race related crash damage repairs
  • Facilities/equipment maintenance and house keeping
  • Customer liaison

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a proven employment record and experience as a motorcycle technician / tuner
  • Be expected to work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining extremely high standards
  • Computer literate in Microsoft suite & a variety of Mapping software programs
  • Be Self- motivated, able to work independently, pay attention to detail and willing to learn
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be willing to support and attend events, open days and ride outs
  • Any racing experience will of course be beneficial
  • And most of all must be a personable and approachable individual that can work as a team player to support the business, colleagues and customers
