Finance Industrial Placement

At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

 

As an Industrial Placement within our Finance function, you will be handling high volumes of data, both accurately and at high speed. It is crucial therefore that we have slick and robust processes to allow us to operate at optimal levels.

 

We are key providers of information, and we are tasked with supporting decision making across the business.  Therefore, we have many demands placed upon our time and we work as a close nit team in order to meet the expectations of the organisation.

 

Within this Industrial Placement, you will help to develop and maintain processes that will support us in becoming a world class Finance function.

You will contribute to:

  • Process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness and compliance

  • Finance KPI’s

  • Ensuring vendor accounts are accurate through timely payments, and invoice processing/query resolution with internal and external parties

  • Supporting the forecasting process

  • Ad hoc duties such as journal postings, analysis & management reporting

Candidate profile:

We would like to hear from you if you are currently studying towards a finance qualification or in the field of mathematics. We would be looking for a hardworking, focused individual who is methodical in their approach and confidence with Microsoft office programmes, Excel in particular.

Recruitment timings and process:

Typically, our Industrial Placements are for a thirteen-month period with an anticipated start date of 3 July 2023.

 

By the time the placement begins, you must have completed a minimum of two years at university, with at least one academic year of study remaining after your placement.

 

Application is fully online. When you apply you will be asked to upload your CV and cover letter (the preferred format is one single pdf file). You will also complete an online application form including details of your academic study and relevant experience. Following your application, you will be emailed links to our online testing. The Hiring Manager will review your application and test scores and if successful you will be invited to attend a short video interview. The final stage will be an assessment centre to be held in late October / November.  This may be virtual or in person. Due to the volume of applications, we only provide feedback to candidates who are invited to the final stage.

 

When shortlisting applications, we are typically looking for relevant university subjects such as cyber security.

All assessments in the recruitment process are in English: this is the primary language used within the organisation and you will need a good command of it in the Industrial Placement role.
