CFD Engineer

Alpine Racing have placed Computational Fluid Dynamics at the heart of our aerodynamics development as we pursue the ultimate of on-track performance by exploiting cutting edge computational technologies and engineering modelling techniques.

Within our factory in Enstone, we are looking to hire the most talented individuals to support our mission. As part of this team, we have positions within our Aerodynamics department for CFD Engineers who will directly support the aerodynamics development of our car.

The Role

In our pursuit of car performance, we seek enthusiastic and capable individuals to apply and supervise best practice using an in-house CFD stack for developmental aerodynamics. The role will focus on understanding and communicating the relative practical and modelling merits of a full spectrum of CFD analysis tools to best address the physical problems that are being considered.

This stimulating role will report to the Head of CFD within our vibrant aerodynamics department and will cover all aspects of CFD application, including a limited amount of scripting. On a day to day basis, the successful candidate will be embedded within our aerodynamics development teams and tasks will be driven by immediate demand.

The Person

The successful candidate will possess a degree in engineering or aerodynamics and have demonstrated the ability to work with a minimum of supervision. We’re interested in hearing from candidates at both junior and senior levels, whose experience in applying CFD to industrial problems varies from a few years to experience leading projects and delivery.

You will be educated to degree level in engineering or aerodynamics, have experience in CFD application for engineering flows and a thorough understanding of turbulence modelling and development from RANS to LES.

Additional requirements are:

- Experience with relevant CAE tools, ideally CATIA, ANSA, Paraview and OpenFOAM
- Highly skilled in trouble-shooting and problem solving
- Excellent communication skills
- Capable of integrating and working effectively in a team
- Capable to work under pressure and to tight timescales
