What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Vehicle Line Quality Engineer to join our Quality Department in Woking. As the Vehicle Line Quality Engineer you will manage the vehicle QCR system to prioritise critical issues using data from Warranty, MPA, and Manufacturing Quality. You will also develop SOPs for quality inspections and addressing concerns to enhance overall vehicle quality and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Analysing and recording Warranty claims reported by global dealer network.
- Raising, assigning, and facilitating QCRs (Quality Concern Reports) through the process where required.
- Governing quality concern system for all issues meeting threshold criteria.
- Driving activity on prioritised issues and manage status reporting to senior management.
- Leading daily cross-functional assessments of field concerns with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
- Feedback the voice of the customer to MPC (McLaren Production Centre).
- Maintaining and generating specific concern KPI’s for various business uses.
- Working with Warranty, MPA team, Manufacturing Quality to deliver a single agenda for quality
- Collaborating with Engineering, SQD (Supplier Quality Development), Manufacturing and Suppliers to guarantee completion of countermeasures and lessons learned activities.
- Assisting in the improvement of business processes (Warranty, MPA and Vehicle Line Quality).
What You'll Bring
- Experience of OEM warranty processes
- Experience of production quality management processes
- Knowledge of automotive parts and McLaren products is advantageous
- Intermediate to advanced level of knowledge for Microsoft Office
- Automotive relevant degree or sufficient foundation in engineering
- Understanding and experience in a manufacturing/process driven environment
- Practical Problem Solving (PPS), 8D (8 Disciplines) or Six Sigma experience would be beneficial
- Experienced user of Quality improvement tools, QMS (Quality Management System) etc.
- Project Management skills would be beneficial
- Experience of stakeholder and workflow coordination
- Confident in public speaking, leading presentations, and guiding meetings
