THE ROLE
We’re looking to appoint a Junior Machinist to work alongside a highly skilled team in our busy Machine Shop. Developing alongside our experienced team, you’ll support the department whilst gaining skills and responsibilities with performance and high-quality workmanship.
The role responsibilities include:

Working with jigs and fixtures.

Operating manual milling machines, lathes, grinders and hand drills.

Maintain and control a current tool inventory.

Checking and maintaining lubricants and coolant levels.

Machining parts to customer specifications, recording contract documentation, completing time sheets and maintaining high standards of workmanship in all tasks.

Ensure parts proceed to the next process with correct labelling procedures.

Clean machines as appropriate.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a self-motivated team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
The candidate should be educated to either a Level 2 or 3 standard or equivalent qualification in Machining. Further training and courses can be provided to those with a Level 2.
You should have an understanding of engineering principle, with an ability to read engineering drawings and inspect your own work on both small and large batches using various materials to tight tolerances.
You should pride yourself on your attention to detail and be capable of delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
You should have strong communication skills and be well organised with the ability to fit into a small team.
You should have good computer skills and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as confident learning and using new computer-based platforms.
