The position:

Aerodynamic development is fundamental to our on-track performance, and having the right tools for the job is critical. We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Aerodynamics Software group and help us build our next generation software infrastructure, using the latest development technologies.

 

You will be a member of a team responsible for designing, developing, maintaining and supporting the suite of software tools used throughout the Aerodynamics department, working directly with Aerodynamicists, CFD and Wind Tunnel Engineers to improve the performance of all areas of the department.

 

Communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning are key to achieving success in this role.  You will need to understand complex concepts quickly, and be able to turn user requirements into maintainable, responsive and scalable software.

 

Our ideal candidate will have experience with the following technologies:

  • Object-oriented programming, e.g C#
  • Frontend frameworks, e.g. WPF
  • Web APIs, e.g. ASP.Net
  • Databases, e.g. SQL Server & Entity Framework
  • Git & Pull Requests

Other technologies that would be highly beneficial:

Blazor, React, MAUI, Kafka, Redis, Mongo, Time-Series Databases, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Kubernetes and Docker.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Owners to design, develop, and implement all aspects of innovative application development using agile principles and working practices.
  • Liaising with stakeholders at all levels of the business to define and develop solutions to business problems.
  • Enhance and support existing systems.
  • Implement appropriate testing and quality assurance.
  • Assist with application support where necessary.
  • Contribute toward improving software process within the team.
