Transmission Dyno Technician

Alpine F1 Team have an opportunity for a highly talented individual as a Transmission Dyno Technician.

The Role

The transmission dyno technician will support the transmission build and test department to supply best in class components through:
• Supporting day to day running of the dyno to undertake transmission tests for development, sign off and investigation work, in accordance with test specifications.

This includes but is not limited to: installing / removing transmission and associated components from the rig, perform borescope inspection, setting up mechanical and electrical equipment for transmission and hydraulics rig, communicating to test requestors any concerns regarding the set up that may influence the integrity of the results, and taking ownership of mechanical tasks during the tests.

• Clearing away a completed test and ensuring the rig room remains a clean, organised, and safe environment in which to work.
• Ensuring and maintaining the correct running of the dyno facilities (transmission and hydraulics) by undertaking service and maintenance, troubleshooting, critical spares management and highlighting any issues that could appear.
• Supporting any upgrade or work required to the rigs.
• Complying with ERP and company process related to the operational departments.
• Complying with Quality and Health and Safety guidelines in the area at all times.
• Continuously identify areas of improvement in their area and complete at least one continuous improvement project every year
• Work in line with Alpine values.

The Person

We are looking for someone who has the following attributes:

• Demonstrate a drive for continuous improvement of team and product.
• Flexible approach to working to achieve targets
• High performer with the ability to remain focused and objective under pressure, working to strict deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Ownership of their work by working to the highest standards.
• Comfortable liaising with others to ensure testing requirements and targets are met. Willingness to learn how the rig controllers operate to have a wider understanding of the test.

In terms of technical skills you will have:

• Knowledge of gearbox / transmission build, service, and test.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical practices used in industrial laboratories/rigs.
• Good knowledge of Health and Safety at Work regulations.
• Good understanding of testing equipment and methodologies used for testing. components.
• Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
