About the Role

The Mould Repair Technician works under the direction of the Managers to complete maintenance and repair on all moulds, patterns and jigs, to meet and maintain customer specifications. This role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the manufacturing process

Key responsibilities (including but not limited to)

  • Perform simple refinishing of production moulds as necessary.
  • Perform extensive refinishing of mould surface for more severe defects.
  • Prepare new moulds for production.
  • Complete predictive and preventative maintenance on moulds.
  • Notify Manager/Supervisor of any mould conditions that cannot be repaired.
  • Provide documentation to support traceability and quality assurance efforts
  • Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including Composite Technicians, Quality Control personnel, and Engineers, to ensure seamless production processes
  • Follow established procedures and guidelines for composite manufacturing and safety protocols
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on the mould repair process and suggesting ways to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills to address any challenges or issues that may arise.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Mechanical inclination
  • Time served/apprenticeship in tool room or precision engineering field/body shop or painting
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Practical and enjoy practical working
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • A team player with a positive attitude
  • Skilful in carrying out precise instructions by hand
  • Excellent attention to detail

Salary: from £27,600 DOE
