Truckie / HGV Garage Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Truckie / HGV Garage Technician to join our Rally Team as they embark on a new long-term Dakar programme. You will provide logistics support for the World Rally Raid team, ensuring all equipment and cars are delivered to venues around the world, whether by truck or air/sea freight. You will also be responsible for the wheels and tyres for cars on events, and the upkeep and maintenance of equipment and service area. Travel is a key part of this role, and can be up to 2-3 weeks per event. You will be required to work at the factory between events preparing the vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cars and equipment to tight deadlines, around the UK, Europe and worldwide, obeying customs clearance procedures
  • Take responsibility for wheels and tyres for the race car(s) under guidance from the Chief Truckie
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment transported are carefully handled and care is taken to prevent damage being caused to them
  • Ensure all vehicles are kept in a permanently clean and presentable condition, both inside and out, at the workshop and on event
  • Be responsible for the trackside set up and pack down in accordance with the championship organisation rules
  • Ensure legality within O licence regulations, Driver’s hours etc

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have a Class 1 HGV licence and current DCPC, as well as previous experience within a similar motorsport role, ideally within the Rally/Rally Raid environment, although on-event training will be provided. European driving experience is required, with knowledge of customs procedures in relation to ATA carnets. You will have experience of co-ordinating tyres on event and be comfortable with long and unsociable hours as well as travel to events worldwide.
