Thermal Design & Release Engineer

Position Responsibilities: 

Perform complex mechanical engineering tasks, to develop advanced automotive thermal solutions and resolve interface issues with EV Powertrain components. Design automotive thermal system to meet vehicle performance targets. Analyze current capabilities and recommend necessary changes. Coordinate solutions with other mechanical engineers and automotive module teams. Communicate requirements with suppliers. Perform supplier management and coordination for thermal systems and related mechanical components. Ensure on-time completion of deliverables from suppliers. Design and develop mechanical engineering processes for state-of-the-art EV powertrain and battery thermal systems. Lead thermal system development process. Ensure HVAC system meets performance and timing requirements. Ensure PT cooling system meets performance and timing requirements. Package and integrate systems into vehicle environment by working closely with block leaders. Design system to package into vehicle environment; resolve package issues with other module teams.

Position Requirements: 

Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, PLUS two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related position. Experience must include demonstrable knowledge of: EV/Hybrid Production Programs; Catia of Thermal Components in an automotive program; GT Suites to design automotive cooling heating system; design of automotive heat pump system for a production vehicle program, and; MatLab Simulink for controls and diagnostics for an automotive thermal system.  Travel to unanticipated customer and vendor locations approximately 10% as required. May telecommute from any location within the U.S.
