Tax Analyst

What to Expect

To support the Tax Manager in ensuring a robust tax environment for the Automotive business. This role will offer exposure to the whole business from a tax perspective. The successful candidate may be qualified but most importantly will have an attention to detail that fosters a strong analytical competence and a drive for personal and professional development. In this role the successful candidate will work collaboratively with key cross- functional stakeholders including finance, commercial operations, procurement and logistics.

What You'll Do

  • Monitoring and clearing shipments in Customs Duty Mailbox. Send clearance instructions to agents so they may complete the customs clearance procedure on our behalf in the Customs Declaration Service and prevent production delays.
  • Prepare agents clearing request for MAL FD signature including Commodity codes used on and that documents contain an appropriate statement of terms or that we hold supplier confirmation.
  • Management and storing of Customs documentation to support future HMRC audit.
  • Monthly regulatory audit from HMRC to ensure our licence to import/export goods can be renewed.
  • Work with MSO to create support and invoices for customer cars being imported for service etc. Manage data in spreadsheet and ensure that we do not exceed statutory timelines for return of cars and incur penalties.
  • Maintenance of Master Spreadsheet for MSO assets and support Tax manager in making quarterly declarations to HMRC
  • Download financial data from SAP and analyse in line with my / Tax Manager requests to support monthly VAT and financial reporting.
  • Assistance with reviewing the impact of new system transition.
  • Adhoc as required.

What You'll Bring

  • Interest in working in accounting and tax specifically desirable. Experience of accounting or a business-related field may be helpful but previous tax knowledge is not a requirement.
  • Ability to analyse and work with large amounts of data and related compliance / regulations.
  • Attention to detail to handle tax audits and reconciliations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools, especially excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills necessary to explain tax processes and make recommendations.
