Purpose of the Role:

The aim of this role is to provide communications support for all track and dyno events. The role holder will be responsible for the installation, test and maintenance of the communications systems at track and dyno events including Intercom and handy radios.


Principal Accountabilities:

The role holder will be responsible for:

  • Installation and maintenance of radio equipment and intercom systems in the garage and on the pit wall.
  • Installation and maintenance of belt pack system and associated equipment.
  • Programming of communications equipment with the authorised frequencies for the event.
  • Build, test and maintenance of associated pit equipment.
  • Build, test and maintenance of driver helmet communication systems, including driver earpieces.
  • Liaison with Commercial team on the radio requirements for VIPs and Guest of the team.
  • Liaison with external suppliers (MRTC, FOM, Marelli) to ensure end to end comms are functioning.
  • Liaison with suppliers on topics of hardware servicing and spare parts.
  • Fault finding garage communication systems both on and off car.
  • Maintenance and repair of team communications equipment such as moulded earpieces.
  • De-rig of all communications equipment post event.
  • Perform on site ear mouldings for the team and any new drivers.

Job requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working in a highly technical engineering function
  • Experience in RF communications systems
  • Experience in network communications systems
  • Competent Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Experience with high level motorsport trackside operations would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience with ClearCom hardware and MRTC equipment desirable.
