We are looking for an exceptional Social Media Manager.

This is a key role as part of the new Williams Racing “History in the Making” chapter as we look to grow our content team at an extremely exciting time. As we continuously strive to improve on-track, our standards need to be visibly reflected within our output on social media, targeting both current and new fan opportunities.  The focus for this role is particularly on vertical-reliant platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram, X and TikTok, consistently producing timely, reactive posts.  This candidate will also thrive in a fast-moving, highly competitive environment with the ability to immediately jump on and react to social media trends.

The job requires a super-charged creative thinker who is stacked with smart ideas to increase our social followers and hit ambitious targets across our channels. They should be data-driven and able to understand social media insight to inform and make decisions to deliver excellence across our social platforms. The ideal candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for authentic, social first content, that sets us apart from our competitors.  

The role will also support Williams Racing’s fan engagement objectives by ideating and publishing highly engaging content across all of Williams Racing’s content on both social and digital. This role is for an extremely ambitious individual looking for an opportunity to be part of sporting history.

As a Social Media Manager, you will:

  • Plan, create and publish content across all social media channels in line with Williams’ overarching social media strategy. 

  • Consistently suggest new ideas and relevant, entertaining creative concepts to drive follower growth.    

  • Communicate social media plans well in advance of events with a clear strategy. 

  • Produce weekly reports and analysis, working closely with our data and insights team.  

  • Lead on awareness of platform and content trends, specifically regarding data insight best practises. 

  • Contribute to Williams being first to relevant social media trends. 

  • Proactive social media community management, engaging with fans on all platforms. 

  • Community engagement, analytics and reporting of Williams Racing’s Social Media Channels 

  • Work alongside the team’s retained creators, including but not limited to; car launches, partner activations and events 

  • Support the implementation of a consistent style and tone of voice across all owned content produced by Williams, in conjunction with the existing Social, Digital and Content Team to align with the wider marketing strategy and brand. 

  • Collaborate with Creative, Communications and Marketing teams to plan and develop engaging content to increase value and meet business and brand objectives. 

  • Challenge and seek to continuously improve processes, procedures and protocols related to Social and Digital as well as wider content production and at Williams 

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in the management of social media channels within Formula 1 - either team or agency side.

  • Understanding of key social media channels and creative best practices 

  • Ability to recognise and capitalise on social media trends 

  • Clear understanding of social metrics and reporting. 

  • Experience on using data to drive content performance forward. 

  • Knowledge and experience of both organic and paid social media, with an understanding of the different approaches to both. 

  • Good experience working with Adobe creative suite. 

  • Additional experience of using Facebook Ads or Business Manager is a plus. 

  • Proactively contributor and collaborator on ideas and opportunities, as part of the immediate and wider team, such as sharing information on industry insight and identifying challenges and opportunities. 

  • Support colleagues as needed through active listening and asking relevant questions.
