Simulation Engineer - Motorsports Competition - NASCAR

Job Description

Develop, integrate, validate, and deploy full vehicle motorsports (race car) multibody models including Pacejka Magic Formula (MF) tire models, using Dymola, Modelica and Claytex Libraries for use by NASCAR Cup Series teams and Xfinity Series teams. Interface with rFPro Terrain Server tracks for offline lap simulation and Concurrent Real Time (RT) with rFPro Graphics for Driver in the Loop (DIL) simulations. Develop interfaces for advanced tire models with thermal and wear effects from external model vendors and integrate with motorsports multibody vehicle models for use in offline and DIL simulation. Analyze test data from various sources including Wheel Force Transducer (WFT) instrumented vehicle track tests, Flat Trac test rigs, and differential test rigs using MATLAB and Python. Gather requirements, research, and develop new vehicle subsystem models and modify existing subsystem models to improve correlation between test data and simulation results and issue correlation reports as part of model updates.                                                                                                                                   

Additional Job Description

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering. Twelve months’ experience as Engineer. Must also have experience with developing, integrating, validating, and deploying full vehicle motorsports multibody models including Pacejka Magic Formula (MF) tire models, using Dymola, Modelica and Claytex Libraries for use by NASCAR team.
